Some attribute the trends of dieting to the media and fashion models.
Dieting can be a very hated word
especially when one has tried everything, and nothing
seems to work. Well, the average American diet lasts for
only 42 days. This doesn't neccessarily mean that Americans
are unable to diet, it means that something is wrong with
the diet. Such as the Doctor Atkins diet, which eliminates
all carbohydrates. Carbohydrates is what fuels your body,
and if you eliminate all carbohydrates, then you have no
energy. People cannot diet this way.
It is easy to feel overwhelmed
when it comes to dieting. Even one of the most distinguised
woman of the century, Oprah Winfrey, feels overwhelmed.
On June 12th, 1990, she wrote,"I'm carrying the fat around.
It's overcoming me, 191 pounds overcome". On June 18th, 1990,
she wrote,"I woke up the last four days hating myself becuase
I hadn't fasted or at least stuck to some kind of plan, trying
to lose 10 pounds in a week so I can put on this suite
next week for the Emmys".
As Oprah wrote ". . .hating myself because I hadn't
fasted or at least stuck to some kind of plan. . ."
HATING YOURSELF AND/OR YOUR BODY IS NOT THE ANSWER
If you spend all your time dwelling on what is
wrong, you cannot focus your time on solutions.
